A gold medal was not enough for Pierre-Luc Gagnon Friday night. The Skateboard VERT final gold medalist upped the ante to take his second X Games gold during the Skateboard Vert Best Trick nollie heelflip final with a never-been-large spin indie 540.
"I certainly cramping up because they were sufficiently strong to face the Best Trick immediately after the final Green but I had been practicing that trick and knew what I should do and how to do it," said Gagnon.
The victory brought grand total of Gagnon's career X Games gold medals in seven, and this was done with a trick he had landed ever before.
"It was the first time I ever made, but the resolution needed only correct.However, under pressure, he gave me the impetus it needs, "said Gagnon.
After Gagnon was Colin McKay, Encinitas, Calif. residents pulled an impressive switch nollieflip 360 for the silver medal.
Bob Burnquist, who took Silver in the Big air skateboard, threw down a switch kick flip boardslides to fakie on the Burnquist was bronze. happy to see the green Best Trick back in X.
"It reminded me the best trick was back-in-the-day. Vert Best Trick is the essence of Skateboard," Burnquist said. "What is fascinating is that skaters as Collin get invited to demonstrate why it is one of the best. "
